AKRON, Ohio- Akron police found a cache of drugs and guns in a car Monday afternoon, leading to two arrests.
Officers were checking registrations of cars parked at a nightclub on Romig Road when they noticed one vehicle’s owner was wanted on outstanding warrants. When police walked up to the car, they saw two men and ammunition inside, the Akron Police Department said.
The passenger told officers there might be a rifle in the car, but police found much more. According to Akron police, they recovered 23 guns, holsters, marijuana and hundreds of prescription pills. Two of the guns had been reported stolen.
Police arrested Ryan L. Peltan, 30, of Doylestown, and Derik W. Snell, 39, of Rittman, on a variety of drug and weapons charges. Both men were taken to the Summit County Jail.
