AKRON – An Akron man accused of murdering his girlfriend, and their five-year-old son could be sentenced to death for his alleged crimes.

An indictment was filed against Daniel Tighe, 39, by a Summit County Attorney Tuesday.

Tighe is accused of murdering Wendy Ralston and their five-year-old son Peyton.

He faces charges including aggravated murder, murder, tampering with evidence, domestic violence, and gross abuse of a corpse.

“October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and unfortunately, this case illustrates how a violent domestic relationship can easily turn deadly and how children, who often witness the abuse, are not immune to the same violence,” said Prosecutor Sherri Bevan Walsh.

Tighe has been in the Summit County Jail since October 3. An arraignment date is not yet set.
