PARMA HEIGHTS, Ohio --
A tragic accident claimed the life of a longtime Cleveland Clinic employee.
Early Friday morning, 77-year-old Marion Moseley was struck and killed while crossing the street. Police say just before seven in the morning, Moseley was walking across a busy stretch of Pearl Road in Parma Heights when she was hit by a car.
Although there was no cross walk, police say it appears Moseley was headed for the bus stop when the accident occurred.
The Cleveland Clinic released the following statement Friday:
"We are deeply saddened by the loss of our long-time friend and employee, Marion Moseley, who worked at the Cleveland Clinic for over 35 years in the media relations office. She had an incredible sense of humor, a vibrant personality and a passion for working with the local media. She has touched many lives here and in the community. Our heartfelt sympathy is with her family and she will be missed."
Police say the driver is a 61-year-old male. His name is not being released pending the outcome of the investigation. At this time, no charges have been filed.
