SHAKER HEIGHTS, Ohio -- Police in Shaker Heights told FOX 8 that three teens have been detained and have confessed their involvement in attempted lurings.  Tips led to police finding them.

Police were investigating after a man allegedly tried to lure children into his car using candy.

According to police, the attempting lurings happened Tuesday in the 21000 and 22000 blocks of Rye Road.

Police say in one incident, a young or high school-aged adult operating a blue smaller model SUV offered two 8-year-old girls candy.

In a 911 call, the mother of one of the girls said the man was videotaping them and said he had candy in his backseat before asking them to get in.

The children said no, and he then left the area.

Another parent also reported that a similar male in a similar vehicle yelled at another juvenile under 13 the same day. He also left that area right after the incident.

Shaker Heights police say a similar enticement report was filed in Cleveland, in an area adjacent to their jurisdiction. They are contacting other police departments to determine whether there are any other similar reports.
