NEW YORK – Marilyn Looney, 82, has been buying lottery tickets for years with her daughter, and it finally paid off.
The New York women accepted their check for $7 million dollars on Tuesday after Looney bought a scratch-off ticket while waiting for her hair appointment, according to ABC News.
Looney’s daughter, 50-year-old Carol Prevete, said they’ve won before on scratch-off tickets, but nothing more than $20-30K.
They will each take home $2.3 million after taxes.
Looney, who is battling breast cancer, said her husband had a nice response to her big win.
“He was holding my hand,” Looney said, “and he said, ‘I knew I married a winner when I picked you.'”
