MENTOR, Ohio (WJW) – Blake Edward Sargi, 27, Monday pleaded not guilty to two charges of murder in the deaths of two people whose bodies were found in a car Saturday night.
Sargi was issued $10 million bond in court.
The bodies of a man and a woman were found in a car in the 7500 block of Andrea Road just after 11 p.m.
They have not been identified.
Investigators say the woman had a pistol between her legs.
The two were found after the suspect’s stepmother called 911, according to the Lake County sheriff, and said her step-son had shot and killed two people. She said her husband, his ex-wife and Sargi were at a house on Oakridge Drive in Concord Township.
The dispatcher was told there were multiple guns in the home and that it was feared if police showed up, there would be shooting.
Authorities were dispatched to both scenes. They found a man and a woman in the front seat of a 2019 GMC Yukon on Andrea Road. Both appeared to have been shot in the head and were dead.
Authorities also went to the home on Oakridge Drive, where Sargi lives. Negotiators began communication and talked the suspect into safely surrendering at the scene.
His home is just over a mile away from where the victims were found.
Sargi is being held at the Lake County Jail.
He’s scheduled to be arraigned Monday on two counts of murder.
Investigators say the motive is unclear.
