CLEVELAND — Roughly $20,000 was donated to the Cleveland Courage Fund in less than 24 hours after Thursday’s sentencing of Ariel Castro and emotional victim statements made by Michelle Knight and the survivors’ families.

The Cleveland Courage Fund was established to help survivors Michelle Knight, Gina DeJesus, Amanda Berry and Berry’s young daughter after they were held in captivity inside Castro’s Seymour Avenue home.

According to Jones Day, more than $1,340,000 has been donated to the Cleveland Courage Fund from more than 10,600 individual donors.

Those wishing to donate can do so online by visiting www.clevelandcourage.org.
