2 children killed in Ohio mobile home fire

NEW LEXINGTON, Ohio — Authorities in Ohio say a mobile home fire has killed two children and injured several other people.

New Lexington Police Chief Scott Ervin has said a 3-year-old boy and a 7-year-old girl were pronounced dead at the scene of the blaze early Monday. Police also say two adults and some other children were taken to hospitals. Information on their conditions wasn’t immediately available.

A 911 supervisor says the fire was reported around 12:30 a.m. in the Perry County village.

The Ohio State Fire Marshal’s Office also is investigating. No information has been released on the cause of the fire.

New Lexington is roughly 55 miles southeast of Columbus.
