2 arrested, teen victim in Cleveland recovered as part of human trafficking bust

CLEVELAND, Ohio — At least two men were arrested, and a 17-year-old victim was recovered in Cleveland Friday as part of an international effort focused on human trafficking.

A total of 239 pimps and their associates were arrested, and 82 juveniles were recovered as part of Operation Cross Country X.

According to a release from the FBI, the operation ran from Oct. 13 through Oct. 15. It took place in the U.S., along with in several countries around the world including Canada, Cambodia, The Philippines and Thailand.

Operations took place in a number of locations including hotels, truck stops and street corners.

On Friday in Cleveland, authorities recovered a 17-year-old sex trafficking victim and arrested Tyrell Moss, 32, and Jada Boyd, 19, at a hotel in the eastern suburbs of Cleveland.

The two suspects face charges of compelling prostitution.

Authorities say that during the past two weeks, the suspects traveled with the victim from her home in Tacoma, Wa., to Idaho, then made stops in Salt Lake City, California, Las Vegas, Denver and Chicago before coming to the Cleveland area Oct. 14.

At each stop, the victim was engaged in commercial sexual exploitation.

In all, the FBI Cleveland Violent Crime and Child Exploitation Task Force recovered two juvenile victims, three pimps/traffickers and one adult prostitute. Another suspect was arrested for having possession of child porn.
