17-year-old seriously injured in South Euclid hit-and-run

SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio- A 17-year-old girl was seriously injured when she was hit by a truck Wednesday morning.

It happened at about 7:15 a.m. while the teen was walking on Harwood Road. South Euclid police said the driver of a Ford F-series pickup truck struck the girl and fled the scene.

A neighbor spotted the girl, who had bruises on her hand and tire marks on her pants.

South Euclid Traffic Commissioner Sgt. Robert Abele said truck parts were found near the victim. The suspect’s truck will have damage to its grill and hood, and is missing the Ford emblem.

The teen was taken to a local hospital, where she remains in intensive care.
