WADSWORTH, Ohio-- The 17-year-old accused of killing a 98-year-old woman in Wadsworth changed his plea in Medina County Common Pleas Court Friday morning.

Gavon N. Ramsey pleaded no contest to all nine courts, including aggravated murder, kidnapping, burglary and abuse of a corpse in the death of Margaret Douglas. No contest is treated as an admission of guilt. There was no plea and the trial was slated to start on Monday.

Family members reported Douglas missing on April 9. Police found her body hidden under clothes in a closet of her home on Portage Street in Wadsworth later that day.

The Medina County Prosecutor’s Office said Ramsey became a suspect when detectives found images of Douglas, both alive and dead, on the teen's cell phone while investigating an unrelated case. He later confessed to the murder.

Ramsey was transferred from the Medina County Juvenile Detention Facility to the Medina County Jail.

He will be sentenced on Jan. 3 and faces life in prison without the possibility of parole. Prosecutor S. Forrest Thompson said he plans to seek the maximum.
