15-year-old killed in shooting on Cleveland’s east side

CLEVELAND- A 15-year-old boy was shot and killed on Cleveland’s east side Tuesday afternoon.

Cleveland police were called to Lee Road and Harvard Avenue at about 3 p.m. for a pedestrian and car exchanging gunfire.

When officers arrived, they found a teen with a gunshot wound to the stomach. The victim, later identified as 15-year-old L’Shawn Brooks, of Cleveland, was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center, where he died from his injuries.

Officers are investigating whether Brooks was part of the shootout after witnesses reported possibly seeing him fire shots, according to the police department.
