CLARKSFIELD, Ohio — A Huron County community is on alert after an 11-year-old girl reported an encounter with a stranger while waiting for the school bus.
It happened in Clarksfield on Tuesday around 6:30 a.m., according to the Huron County Sheriff’s Office.
The man reportedly came out from behind the girl’s home and said, “Come with me.”
The girl, who is a Western Reserve Local Schools student, refused and got on the bus safely. She did not mention the incident to the driver but told her parents later.
She did not recognize the man, but described him as a white male with a light-colored beard, about 5’5″ tall. He wore a dark cap and sweatshirt.
Detectives were sent to the area, the Huron County Sheriff’s Office said.
