CLEVELAND – According to Cleveland EMS, a 1-year-old boy was shot on Sunday afternoon inside a home near 63rd Street and Fleet Avenue in Cleveland.

The boy was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center and pronounced dead upon arrival.

Cleveland Police Chief Calvin Williams told Fox 8 that the firearm that killed the boy was left unattended in the house and that it was a senseless loss of life that was directly related to guns.

Police confirmed that a 3-year-old boy shot the 1-year-old. There were also several children in the home during the incident, there was one adult in the house.

The incident is currently being investigated by police.
