A Christian blogger is getting some attention for something she posted online recently. Veronica Partridge wrote in her Jan. 5 blog that she will stop wearing leggings and yoga pants as a way to honor God.
In the blog, she says when women wear the leggings “it creates a stronger attraction for a man to look at a woman’s body and may cause them to think lustful thoughts.” When she asked her husband about the issue, he agreed with her.
She wrote: “If it is difficult for my husband who loves, honors, and respects me to keep his eyes focused ahead, then how much more difficult could it be for a man that may not have the same self-control? Sure, if a man wants to look, they are going to look, but why entice them? Is it possible that the thin, form-fitting yoga pants or leggings could make a married (or single) man look at a woman in a way he should only look at his wife?”
She said she has made a personal vow to no longer wear thin, form-fitting yoga pants or leggings in public. The only time they are appropriate, she said, is if she’s in the comfort of her own home or “wearing a shirt long enough to cover my rear end.”
Her blog has gotten over 500 comments since it was posted.
