A study found a difference between men and women when it comes to pain after surgery.

According to WebMD, men feel more pain after major surgery, while women feel more pain after minor procedures, like biopsies.

Ten thousand people were involved in the Austrian study.

Patients were interviewed 24 hours after surgery about the operation, anesthesia and pain/well-being.

The research was presented at a medical meeting but is considered preliminary until it is published in a peer-reviewed journal.
