Students at Arizona State University had the chance to receive extra credit to change their shaving habits.

A professor offered it to challenge students to defy gender norms.

The women were given extra credit to stop shaving their underarms and legs for 10 weeks.  The men were asked to shave their bodies from the neck down.

Students were asked to journal about their experience and how people reacted to their bodily changes.

Several students who participated in the project said it was life-changing.
