There are many references to Santa’s pipe in the most traditional Christmas classics.
But now, one woman wants him to kick the habit … so she cut it right out of a new version of A Visit from St. Nicholas.
Some critics argue that the new, smoke-free Santa is taking politically correctness too far, and wonder what else could be altered in the 189-year-old poem.
The author, however, who nixed Kris Kringle’s pipe says it’s time to set a good example for kids.
What do you think? Should Santa quit smoking pipes in Christmas classics?
