CLEVELAND, Ohio – Regina Lockhart’s lifelong love of baking began when she was a young girl with cooking lessons from her mother.

Currently Regina operates a home-based catering service that specializes in home-style desserts. Regina shared one of her most popular dessert recipes with Fox 8’s Stefani Schaefer.

Banana Split Cake


11 oz. box vanilla wafers
8oz. cream cheese
3 bananas
20 oz. can pineapple tidbits
1 pt. strawberries
8 oz. cool whip
10 oz. jar salad cherries
1/2 cup pecans
2 cups powdered sugar


(8×8 baking dish)

Crumble 3 cups of vanilla wafers as a crust in the bottom of the baking dish.
Mix together cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Spread evenly over the vanilla wafers.
Thinly slice the bananas on top of the cream cheese mixture.
Layer with pineapple tidbits, next layer thinly sliced strawberries, top with cool whip, chopped pecans, and cherries.
Chill in the refrigerator overnight.
