Motivating children can be challenging, so parents sometimes end up putting their money where their mouth is.

FOX 35 reported half of parents admit to bribing their kids to do their household tasks.

The Orlando television station spoke to a doctor who said there’s a difference between bribery and rewarding good behavior.

She explained telling a child you will buy them a candy bar if they settle down in the grocery store is bribery, but offering an allowance for kids who do chores may boost productivity.

The doctor also warned not to reward every positive action with money, as we are not always rewarded in the real world.
