A Los Angeles man is stirring up some major controversy with people against drunken driving.
That’s because Sennett Devermont is the self-proclaimed “MrCheckpoint,” tipping off the drinking crowd with locations of police and DUI checkpoints stationed throughout Southern California.
The 25-year-old has a huge fan base — nearly 42,000 Twitter followers and 20,000 text subscribers.
But not everyone appreciates his road reveals.
Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) says MrCheckpoint is just letting criminals get away with breaking the law.
“While we support the publication of checkpoints as a deterrent to drunk driving, sites like MrCheckpoint alert drunk drivers so they can evade arrest. It’s not meant as a positive,” MADD’s Pat Rillera told LA Weekly.
