CENTENNIAL, Colo. — A woman in Colorado is having a hard time getting out of jury duty despite being 34 weeks pregnant.
According to KDVR, She is one of 9,000 people summoned in the potential jury pool in the Aurora, Colo., shooting trial of James Holmes, the admitted gunman in the 2012 theater shooting.
The woman put on her jury questionnaire that she had given birth at 36 weeks with her previous pregnancies. The judge had no problem dismissing her, but the defense insisted she remain in the jury pool.
So far, nearly 500 jurors have been dismissed from the case. The trial is expected to last about six months.
Holmes has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity in the case.
