MADISON, Wisc. — Should cameras be allowed in operating rooms?
KSPR reports that one family is pushing for it after a loved one’s tragic death.
Julie Rubenzer went in for a breast augmentation, but ended up slipping into a coma and dying. Her doctor wasn’t certified for the procedure, and he didn’t perform CPR for several minutes when Julie flat-lined.
Now her family wants to pass Julie’s Law in her memory.
The proposed law is up for vote in Wisconsin, but supporters hope it will eventually become law in all 50 states. The bill would allow patients to have their procedure recorded for a fee.
It would then be treated as any medical procedure.
