Naomi's Peach Cobbler

Butter an 11.5 x 8 or 2 quart baking dish. Set aside.


  • ½ cup white sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 4 cups peaches, sliced
  • ¾ cup white sugar (not for batter)


Line sliced peaches in bottom of buttered baking dish. By hand, mix first 7 ingredients with a spatula. Batter will be thick. Spoon batter over peaches. Then sprinkle remaining ¾ cup sugar over batter. Carefully drizzle 1/4 -1/2 cup cold water over the sugar, trying to cover sugar. Amount of water will depend on how juicy the peaches are- the juicer the peach the less water needed. Bake at 350 for 45-55 minutes.
