MENTOR, Ohio — The Mentor Public Library is cleaning house.

Used computers and printers will be offered for sale at the main library’s James R. Garfield Room from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 23.

The cash and carry sale will be operated by library staff on a first-come, first-served basis. The money raised will directly benefit the library and will be used to purchase new computer hardware and equipment.

There is a limit of one computer per buyer. The computers will be sold “as is” and must be paid for in cash.

“We are cleaning house to make room for new computers,” said MPL IT Manager Andy Gunsch. “We want to do what’s best for our patrons.  That means we will be selling greatly discounted computers as opposed to recycling them.  We welcome the public to take a look at the sale and help us move out the old and bring in the new.”

The following items will be included in the sale:

  • Dell Computers complete with a flat screen monitor, keyboard, mouse, and some with speakers. Each tested and with a fresh installation of Windows XP Professional. Prices ranging from $50 to $150. Models Include: Dell 5150, Dell GX520, Dell 745, and Dell 755.
  • HP LaserJet Printers – All working, some with replacement toner cartridges.  Prices will range from $25 to $75.
  • Computer accessories, old eReaders, hardware components.
