SHEFFIELD VILLAGE, Ohio — The Center for Orthopedics will be hosting its Fourth Annual Sports Physical event on Friday, June 8, 2012.

The event allows students who are required to receive a sports physical for after school activities to be examined by a physician for free from 1:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Six doctors from the Center for Orthopedics and several area physicians will be donating their time and expertise to the event.

“As athletes themselves, the physicians of our practice wanted to continue the tradition of offering no-cost sports physicals to the students in local schools,” said Sheila Tonn-Knopf, Director of The Center for Orthopedics. “This is our fourth year, and each event draws more and more kids. It’s just our way of giving back to the community.”

Event organizers say that last year, approximately 600 students from 25 schools received physicals.

Reservations for the free event are recommended and to participate, student athletes should download the Ohio High School Athletic Association physical form from their school’s web site, and bring it with them to the event.

The student’s medical history forms that have been signed by a parent or guardian are required as well.

The deadline to to make reservations is Friday, June 1st. Call 440.329.2860 to reserve a spot.

The Center for Orthopedics is located at 5001 Transportation Drive in Sheffield Village.
