My Town: ‘Cops and Bobbers’ children’s fishing event

BRIMFIELD, Ohio — The Brimfield Police Department is spearheading a fishing event for local children.

Cops and Bobbers will be held Saturday, June 14, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Michael J. Kirwan Dam at West Branch State Park.

The event is free to attend and open to all kids and teens 15 and under.

Bait, food and drinks will also be available for free. The event also includes a meet and greet with officers and K-9 units from area police departments, firefighters and professional fishing teams.

A birds of prey exhibit, Native American dancers, fishing stations and the Portage County Water Rescue Team will also be featured.

The event will also include prizes and giveaways.
