AKRON, Ohio — The Akron Zoo is set to host its annual Snow Bowl at Stonehedge, one of the zoo’s largest fundraisers of the year.
Local companies and organizations will go head to head at the 26th annual target bowling competition. Teams of five players will predict their score before the competition, and the team to finish with a score closest to their prediction wins.
This year’s Snow Bowl will be held Saturday, February 9 at Stonehedge from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The cost to register a team starts at $300 and includes three games, the company or organization’s name at Stonehedge and shoe and ball rentals and t-shirts for each team member. Teams can still sign up for bowling times of noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. The 10 a.m. team shift is full as of January 9.
The Akron Zoo is also selling tickets for the grand raffle to be held at the end of the Snow Bowl. Tickets are $5 each or six tickets for $20. The tickets can be purchased at the Akron Zoo or during the Snow Bowl.
In 25 years, the Snow Bowl at Stonehedge has raised more than $730,000. All proceeds will help support the Akron Zoo’s conservation and education programs, and the feeding and care of more than 700 zoo animals.
The Akron Zoo’s winter hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and admission is $6 per person. Children 2 and under are free.
