CLEVELAND — A thousand motorcycles are riding together in honor of firefighters who have lost their lives in the line of duty.

The 9th annual Firefighters Memorial Ride and Ceremony will be held Sunday, May 26 across from FirstEnergy Stadium. Motorcyclists will begin staging at 8:30 a.m., and the event ceremony honoring fallen firefighters will begin at 10:30 a.m.

Registration is limited to 1,000 riders and 1,500 riders/passengers and is $25 per person, and there will be no opportunity to register the day of the ride.

The motorcycles will begin their honorary 45-mile ride at 11 a.m., and will ride past nine local fire houses.

In 2012, Ohio lost three firefighters in the line of duty: Edward R. Bernosky of the Adena Volunteer Fire Department, Rocky Dunkin of the Nile Township Volunteer Fire Department and Mike Burgan of the Sugarcreek Fire Department.
