Students, staff and clients of the Medina County Board of Developmental Disabilities are collecting hats, gloves, scarves and mittens for families in need. New or gently used cold weather accessories can be placed on “Giving Trees” located in the entry ways of the Achievement Center through December 18th. “This project gives so many people the opportunity to join in the spirit of giving” says Superintendant, Dr. Greg LaForme. “Many of our families are on limited budgets themselves, but they still feel a special sense of pride when they can help make a difference in the lives of others.” The Medina County Board of Developmental Disabilities has collected more than 2500 items during the past six years, helping agencies including the Medina Community Services Center, residents of the Medina County Home, the Battered Women’s Shelter, Salvation Army Medina and Wadsworth, and the Rape Crisis Center of Summit & Medina Counties. The Achievement Center is located at 4691 Windfall Road in Medina.
