Residents in Akron’s Ward 2 will have to wait a few extra days for leaves and yard debris to be removed. The scheduled pick up date in that ward has been delayed from December 2nd until at least Monday, December 5th. “We have been picking up leaves in Ward 8 for the last 12 calendar days and we are just completing Ward 8 now,” said Deputy Service Director John Valle. “The delay is due to the excessive rain we have had since the leaf program began.” The city asks that residents still have their leaves out by the posted date. Once crews start on Ward 2, the process will take two to three days. Ward 5 leaf pickup should begin on schedule on Wednesday, December 7th.
