  • Excessive heat watch for heat indices as high as 112 degrees Friday and Saturday

    The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat watch for most of Northeast Ohio. It is in effect from Friday afternoon through Saturday evening. Heat indices could range from 105 to as high as 112 degrees. An excessive heat watch is issued when a prolonged period of hot weather is expected.   • Cleveland high school security guard sentenced on charges of sexual battery with multiple students

    CLEVELAND, Ohio – A former East Tech High School security guard was sentenced Wednesday to four years behind bars on multiple charges stemming from inappropriate relationships with students. Derrick Dugger, 29, was arrested in November. Court documents said he forced a 15-year-old girl to perform oral sex and sent students inappropriate photos on social media.   • Cleveland’s Own: Gary Easter

    FOX 8 and Kaulig Giving would like to salute Gary Easter as one of Cleveland’s Own. Gary is the co-founder of Hermes Race Systems and has been an instrumental part of the Cleveland running community for more than 40 years.     Editor’s Note: Mr. Washington was found safe. EUCLID, Ohio – An endangered missing adult alert has been issued for Joseph Washington, Sr. Washington is 84, 5’5″ and 150 pounds. Police say he has dementia and heart issues and that they are concerned for his safety.   • Hummus recalled nationwide due to possible listeria contamination

    Pita Pal Foods, LP of Houston, Texas, has issued a voluntary recall of hummus products made between May 30, 2019 and June 25, 2019. An FDA inspection found Listeria moncytogenes at the manufacturing facility. Listeria monocytogenes is an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. The products have been distributed nationwide and to United Arab Emirates. Find a full list of products being recalled here.

    RICHLAND COUNTY, Ohio – The Ohio State Highway Patrol has released dash camera video of a chase that ended in a crash in Mansfield early Sunday morning.     COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State says it is reviewing gifts and donations, following the arrest of accused child sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein. Epstein pleaded not guilty last week to federal sex trafficking charges in New York. In 2008, Epstein pleaded guilty in Florida to state charges of soliciting a minor for prostitution under an agreement that required him to spend 13 months in jail and register as a sex offender.
