  • Reports: GM, LG Chem to announce electric car battery venture in Lordstown

    LORDSTOWN, Ohio (WJW) – South Korea’s LG Chem said it would invest $916 million in its U.S. subsidiary to set up an electric vehicle battery joint venture with General Motors.     LYNDHURST, Ohio (WJW) – Law enforcement in Lyndhurst say they have taken one man in custody, following a SWAT situation that lasted for several hours at a home in the 1100 block of Gordon Rd.   • Roads in ‘great shape’ in Chardon after first responders and salt trucks team up to clear the roads

    CHARDON, Ohio (WJW) – The changeover from rain to snow in Chardon Wednesday night happened so swiftly, first responders were asking people to stay off the roads altogether. Cars were sliding all over roads leading into Chardon Square. It took emergency crews some time to get people off the roads before they could get salt trucks through to treat them.   • Electricity shutoff notices delivered to tenants at Chapel Hill Mall

    AKRON, Ohio (WJW) – FirstEnergy confirms to FOX 8 that shutoff notices have been delivered to tenants at Chapel Hill Mall. FirstEnergy says power to the mall will be cut in five days if payment is not made. They say they will work with mall management to find a solution. Chapel Hill Mall has a number of empty stores. JCPenney is the only anchor store that still remains in the mall. Rolling Acres Mall in Akron closed in 2008.

  • Maroon 5’s new tour plans stop at Blossom with Meghan Trainor

    CUYAHOGA FALLS, Ohio (WJW) – Maroon 5 is going on a multi-country tour in 2020 with Meghan Trainor. Trainor’s new album “Treat Myself” is expected to be released in January. Maroon 5 and Trainor will play at Blossom Music Center on June 18. Tickets go on sale Friday, December 13 at 12 p.m.

  • Cleveland’s Own: Green Good Neighbors

    (WJW) – Throughout the month of December, FOX 8 and Kaulig Giving are saluting local volunteers as Cleveland’s Own. Today we’re honoring Green Good Neighbors. The group has been helping those in need for more than 51 years by collecting groceries, clothing, household items and school supplies. Last year, volunteers gave more than 10,000 hours of their own time as part of the effort. You can submit your nomination here.
