Patty is excited to be joining Fox8 as the morning traffic reporter.

Patty is a life long Clevelander, having grown up in Lakewood and Avon Lake. She studied Radio and TV at Butler University in Indianapolis.
An internship at WMMS brought her back to Cleveland, and she has never left.

Patty spent over a decade serving area listeners as a radio traffic reporter. She had many aliases, with her favorite being “Holly Copter.”

Patty enjoys being with her 2 kids and 2 cats, hanging out at the beach, exercising, golfing, bowling, and her Cleveland Indians. She also enjoys
volunteering at the Barton Center in Lakewood.

  • No injuries in Cleveland Heights house fire

    CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, Ohio– No one was injured during a house fire in Cleveland Heights Friday morning. Firefighters were called the home on Atherstone Road just before 7 a.m. Smoke was wafting over Noble Road and other parts of the area. It appeared the blaze started in the basement and burned up into the first floor, fire officials said. It was under control at about 7:30 a.m. Crews from South Euclid, Shaker Heights and University Heights also responded to the scene.

    TWINSBURG, Ohio – A two car crash on I-480 W caused major travel delays. The accident I-480 W at Route 91 happened just after 6 a.m. The backup stretched for about 15 miles. OHGO reports the travel delays were just over 60 minutes. No word on any injuries. The road reopened just after 7 a.m. A car flipped on I-271 N near the 480 merge, causing delays in that area.

  • 1 killed in crash near Greyhound bus station in downtown Cleveland

    CLEVELAND, Ohio — One person was killed in a crash in front of a Greyhound bus station on Chester Avenue in downtown Cleveland. Two others were hospitalized. The crash happened at just before 6:30 a.m. Friday. Fox 8’s Patty Harken reports that Chester Avenue was closed between East 13th Street and East 15th Street in front of the station.     BOSTON HEIGHTS, Ohio — One person died in a crash involving a tractor trailer and truck pulling an RV on the Ohio Turnpike Friday morning. It happened around 2:15 a.m. Friday in the eastbound lanes of the Ohio Turnpike between mile markers 179 and 180 in Boston Heights.   • Vehicle hits Rockefeller Building in downtown Cleveland

    CLEVELAND, Ohio — A vehicle hit the Rockefeller Building in downtown Cleveland early Thursday. Fox 8’s Patty Harken reports that it happened at West 6th Street and Superior at around 5 a.m. The westbound lanes of Superior are blocked at West 6th Street due to the crash. Two people were trapped during the ordeal. There is no word on any injuries.

    WESTLAKE, Ohio — Police have taken at least four people into custody after a chase that started in North Ridgeville early Thursday. According to police, the suspects were chased into Rocky River.   • Portion of U.S. 62 in Canton closed after crash involving truck carrying chickens

    CANTON, Ohio — U.S. 62 west is closed due to a crash involving a semi and a truck carrying chickens. The crash happened this morning at Cleveland and Market avenues.   • Crews deal with large water main, water line breaks in Cleveland

    CLEVELAND, Ohio — Crews were dealing with a large water main break and a water line break in Cleveland Thursday morning. A water line break happened in the area of Detroit Avenue at the railroad overpass near Berea Road. Police directed traffic around the hazard. One lane in each direction on Detroit Avenue is open. The second water man break was located at Northfield Road at Alexander Road. Alexander Road was closed at Northfield Road and Independence Drive.
