  • World’s Largest Cuckoo Clock in Northeast Ohio damaged

    SUGARCREEK, Ohio — Police in Sugarcreek are investigating damage to the World’s Largest Cuckoo Clock. Authorities in the Tuscarawas County city say some children scaled a fence and hopped up on the clock. They were reportedly dancing with the figures on the clock as their parents looked on. The arms of the people on the clock were damaged and later fell off. Residents are offering a reward to find the people responsible. They also say security cameras will be installed. […]

  • Construction worker injured after being struck by car on I-71 at SR 176

    CLEVELAND — A construction worker was injured and taken to the hospital after being hit by a car while on the job. The worker was struck at around 11:15 a.m. when ODOT says a driver entered the work zone on I-71 southbound at SR 176. ODOT says employees were setting up portable barrier walls beneath the SR 176 southbound ramp bridge when it happened.

  • Painesville judge hands down another creative sentence

    PAINESVILLE, Ohio – A Painesville judge handed down a creative sentence Tuesday for a student accused of stealing a life ring. The student had been caught on surveillance video stealing the ring from Lake Metroparks. He was charged with criminal mischief and faced up to 60 days in jail.   • Veterinary hospital raises thousands to help police get new K-9 officer

    WARRENSVILLE HEIGHTS, Ohio – It was a special day for a local police department. In December 2017, the South Euclid Police Department lost one of its K-9 officers, Oktane, to cancer. The price to add another K-9 to the force was about $13,000. VCA Great Lakes Veterinary Specialists in Warrensville Heights helped to take care of Oktane when he was ill and they wanted to do something for the department after their loss.     STRONGSVILLE, Ohio – A touching ceremony Wednesday evening in Strongsville for a wife, mother and a former colleague of Fox 8. Kathleen Cochrane DePiero passed away unexpectedly in December. She was a talented reporter here at Fox 8 before she stepped away to be a full-time mom to her children. Kathleen was also a big supporter of the Cuyahoga County Public Library.   • Student charged with having gun inside Glenville High School

    CLEVELAND — An 18-year-old has been charged with having a gun inside Glenville High School. According to court documents, the student is charged with illegal possession of a deadly weapon in a school safety zone. Students reported seeing him with a gun in the high school cafeteria on Wednesday. Police found the student after he left the school, and say he had a fully loaded handgun with a full magazine on him. There was no indication of a threat.

  • Video shows incident that has Cleveland officer facing charges

    CLEVELAND — Video was just released of an incident that has a Cleveland police officer facing charges. Patrol officer Angela Gaston is accused of refusing to allow another officer to tow her vehicle after discovering she had more than $1,500 worth of outstanding parking tickets. The incident happened Feb. 12. Gaston is also accused of leaving the scene. She is charged with obstructing official business and failure to comply.
