  • Cleveland police cancel missing person alert for 76-year-old man with dementia, heart condition

    CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Division of Police  has canceled a missing person alert for an elderly man with dementia and a heart condition who went missing from his home last May. Cleveland police say Charles Blackmon, 76, walked away from his home on Ambleside Drive at around 11:30 a.m. on May 13, 2018 and had not returned. February 28, 2019 police canceled alert.

  • Wayne County issues Level 1 winter driving advisory

    WAYNE COUNTY, Ohio — The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office has issued a Level 1 snow emergency for winter driving conditions. The department’s Facebook page reported that roads were very icy, making for dangerous travel conditions.   • Good Samaritan, police help rescue dog from ravine with tractor

    MEDINA TOWNSHIP, Ohio — Imagine if your beloved, elderly dog wandered down a 100-foot ravine and could not get itself back up to safety. That’s what happened to a woman in Medina Township on Hood Road Saturday evening. Medina Township police say some officers responded to help the woman, but they, too, needed assistance.     WILLOUGHBY HILLS, Ohio — An 82-year-old man died Saturday afternoon after falling off a cliff in his backyard, the Willoughby Hills Police Department said on Sunday. Willoughby Hills police and fire departments received a call reporting that a man had gone over the cliff at a home in the 38400 block of Berkshire Hills Drive.     CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Division of Police is investigating the shooting death of a man early Sunday morning. It happened just before 7:45 a.m. in the 1090 block of East 141st Street. Police say the man was slumped over in his car when officers found him. He had been fatally shot in the head and pronounced dead at the scene.     CLEVELAND — A 71-year-old man who was critically hurt in a car fire that killed his wife Friday afternoon, has passed away, officials said on Sunday. Dennis and Jo Ann Svihlik, 65, were on State Route 2 in their 2005 Chevy Trailblazer when the vehicle caught fire near the Lakeside-Marblehead exit, in Danbury Township, a news release stated.
