    VERMILION, Ohio — Several families had to be rescued overnight due to flooding in Vermilion. Around 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday, the Vermilion Fire Department  received three calls for rescue on Riverside Dr. The families were asking for help because flood waters were rising into their homes.     CLEVELAND, Ohio – 25-year-old Karina Diaz is suspected in the stabbing death of a man on W. 89th Street. Officers were called to a home in the 2000 block Sunday around 10:30 p.m. When they arrived, Cleveland police say they found a male who had been stabbed in the neck.     WADSWORTH TOWNSHIP, Ohio-The Medina Highway Patrol Post is investigating the circumstances of a fatal accident involving a postal worker in Medina County. The highway patrol says on December 26, Randy L. Irwin, 59, from Macedonia, was on his mail route along State Route 94 in Wadsworth Township.   • Shelter available for 2,500 Columbia gas customers impacted by outage lasting 24 to 48 hours

    UPDATE—-Lorain County Emergency Management is changing the location of the shelter for those affected by the Columbia Gas outage. Residents needing shelter are now being asked to go to  Eastern Heights Middle School located at 528 Garford Avenue in Elyria.   • Missing Willowick man dies in crash

    WILLOWICK, Ohio –– A missing Willowick man died in a car crash in Cleveland. Willowick police said 88-year-old Umberto Bordon had not been seen since early Thursday afternoon. Bordon was visiting his wife at at Heartland of Mentor at the time. Officers responded to a crash at Superior Avenue and East 39th Street. Police said Bordon’s car hit a bridge pillar. He died at the scene. The cause of the crash is unknown at this time.

    Akron, Ohio-   The Akron Zoo has announced plans to expand over the next two years. The zoo will open two new exhibits featuring more animals and more educational experiences. Officers were called to the 1400 block of West River Road around 6 p.m. for a man down in the parking lot.   • Update: Police name location of credit card skimmer in Brunswick

    BRUNSWICK, Ohio– Police are warning customers that may have used an ATM with a credit card skimmer. Brunswick police now say the skimmer was found on the Huntington Bank ATM located inside the GetGo gas station on Center Road. They believe the device was attached to the ATM at 10:30 a.m. on Sept. 5, then located and removed at 5:30 p.m. the same day.
