Andre Bernier

For more than 20 years, Meteorologist Andre’ Bernier has delivered weather forecasts on Fox 8 News.

He was the first in Cleveland to develop and introduce doing the weather from the station’s outdoor set. . Prior to joining WJW in January of 1988, Andre’ served as staff meteorologist for KARE-TV in Minneapolis.

In 1982, André was on the launch team for The Weather Channel, where he served as a morning meteorologist until 1985. He also served as the staff meteorologist at KGAN-TV in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, from 1981-82.

André’s broadcast career had an early jump-start at the age of 15 as a weekend weathercaster for WBSM-AM in his hometown of New Bedford, Mass.

Andre’ is a 1981 graduate of Vermont’s Lyndon State College with a bachelor of science degree in meteorology.

André is married to Cleveland native Sally Bernier, who is also a degreed meteorologist. They have a son, Noah, born in June of 1997.

In addition to his passion for meteorology, Andre’ is equally passionate about his Christian faith. After completing post-graduate seminary requirements, he became an ordained minister both through the Evangelical Church Alliance and by an ordination council of minister which convened at Grace Community Church in Massillon in May of 2004. He is active in ministry at Fellowship Bible Chruch in Bainbridge, Ohio.
