The Washington Post reports Michigan will become the first state in the nation to ban flavored e-cigarettes.

Gov. Gretchen Whitmer is expected to make the announcement Wednesday.

In an interview with the Washington Post, Whitmer says e-cigarette companies are using sweet flavors to hook young people on nicotine.

The ban is expected to cover both retail and online sales and will go into effect immediately.
