‘Greater level of compassion’: Columbus police introduce new therapy dogs to comfort crime victims

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Columbus Division of Police Monday introduced a new therapy dog unit.

According to a post on Facebook, five therapy dogs and their handlers are being trained to provide comfort and lift the spirits of those who have experienced trauma.

The post said the new unit will help bring a greater level of compassion to officers’ every day duties.
