Cleveland leaders to consider proposal to reduce penalties for marijuana offenses

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Cleveland city leaders will consider a proposal to reduce penalties for some marijuana offenses. 

Legislation was introduced at their mid-summer meeting Wednesday.

The plan would call for no fines or prison time for misdemeanor offenses to avoid unnecessary incarceration.

The city of Columbus approved lowering marijuana-related penalties earlier this week.
