20-year-old man shot, killed in Cleveland’s east side

CLEVELAND — Cleveland police are investigating after a man was fatally shot on the city’s east side.

Police were called to E. 93rd Street and Miles Park Avenue around 9 p.m. Saturday.

Preliminary information indicates that the shooting in the 9400 block of Miles as the victim, a 20-year-old man, encountered a person in a vehicle there and was shot.

Police say the victim got into his car and drove a short distance before crashing into a pole.  He then exited his vehicle and collapsed.

Authorities found him found laying in a field.

They say he had been shot in the shoulder.

Officers on scene rendered first aid until EMS arrived and transported him to University Hospitals, where he died from his injuries.

Officials have not released his identity.

No arrests have been made. The homicide unit is continuing to investigate.
