Dangerous currents and waves on Lake Erie Monday

CLEVELAND, Ohio – There is a BEACH HAZARD STATEMENT in effect Monday for Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Erie, Lake, Lorain and Ottawa counties.

The National Weather Service issued the warning through late tonight.

There is a high swimming risk from waves and dangerous currents.

According to NWS, wind, rip currents and longshore currents can create life-threatening conditions, even for good swimmers.
