3 people escape, 2 dogs die in large Orrville house fire

ORVILLE, Ohio -- Two adults and a child were able to escape, but two dogs died in a fire at a home in Orrville Monday.

The fire was reported about 6:46 a.m. Monday at 12801 E. Old Lincoln Way.

Asst. Fire Chief Ron Taylor said more than 40 firefighters battled the blaze, using over 18,000 gallons of water shuttled to the scene from a pond about a mile away.

Taylor said the home is now not liveable. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
