CLEVELAND– The Indians beat the Yankees in Games 1 of the American League Division Series Thursday night in front of an energetic home crowd. The final score was 4-0.

With bases loaded in the second, the Indians were able to get one run despite hitting into a double play.

Two innings later, Jay Bruce hit a two-run home run. In the fifth inning, Jose Ramirez hit a single, moved two bases on wild pitches then scored on Bruce’s sacrifice fly. That made it a 4-0 ballgame.

Starting Tribe pitcher Trevor Bauer left the game in the seventh inning to a standing ovation. He gave up just two hits and had eight strikeouts.

Andrew Miller and Cody Allen added three strikeouts a piece to keep New York scoreless.
