CLEVELAND-- Interstate 71 north is back open following a multi-car accident Thursday morning.

The highway was closed between Denison Avenue and West 25th Street, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation. Traffic was being diverted at West 25th Street, then re-entering I-71 north via an exit-only lane.

Cleveland police said the crash involved a wrong-way driver that collided with a semi.

Two men were taken to the hospital, EMS dispatch said. One is critical and the other is in serious condition.

Hazmat and the sewer district were also called to the scene. I-71 was closed for hours.

Police believe alcohol is a factor in the crash.
