EASTLAKE, Ohio-- A furniture warehouse in Eastlake caught on fire Tuesday afternoon.

It happened at Northeast Factory Direct on Curtis Boulevard shortly after 1 p.m.

No customers were inside at the time and seven employees were able to escape without injuries.

The fire started in the front of the store, then spread to the warehouse, which was full of inventory. About a quarter of the decades-old building was damaged by flames, while the rest sustained heavy smoke damage.

Northeast Factory Direct does not have a sprinkler system, fire officials said.
