LAKE TOWNSHIP, Ohio - Stark County Sheriff officials and state Bureau of Criminal investigation agents are investigating a double homicide at a home on Mount Pleasant NW.

71-year-old Rogell John and his wife, 64-year-old Roberta, were found inside their home on Monday afternoon around 4:20 p.m. The sheriff's department had been contacted by the couple's son, who had not heard from his parents since they returned from vacation on Sunday.

Neighbors told police that they did see the couple after they returned from vacation, and the Sheriff George T. Maier said that someone had also spoken to them since their return. But it was the son who called them after trying to contact his parents all day Monday.

According to the sheriff, there were wounds found on the bodies, but he would not release a cause of death, stressing that the scene is still being processed by their department as well as the Bureau of Criminal Investigation and the Stark County coroner's office.

It is believed, though, that the suspect in the case may have known the couple and that this was a targeted incident, not a random act of violence. No sign of forced entry was seen.

Anyone with any information on this is asked to call the Stark County Sheriff at 330-430-3800.
