WILLOUGHBY, Ohio — Officials with the Willoughby-Eastlake City Schools  held a press conference Friday morning after this week’s devastating fire.

The fire at the facility on Ridge Road in Willoughby was reported at about 12:30 a.m. Tuesday.

At least two floors of the 102-year-old Chandler Estate were engulfed when the Willoughby Fire Department arrived. Nineteen surrounding agencies responded to the scene.

Officials said at Friday’s press conference that the cause of the fire is accidental and of unknown origin. They said there was too much damage to determine a more specific cause.

The fire did start in a first floor office. The district’s servers were saved.
