ST. LOUIS, MO – Children dressed in their winter pj’s. Holiday story books. Candles. Dogs and cats waiting for their forever homes.

It’s a picture right out of a Christmas movie. Or….it’s a way for some very thoughtful children to give some shelter pets in St. Louis a memorably cozy night!

The Humane Society of Missouri hosted a “Deck the Howls” event, inviting local children in to their shelter to share the holiday spirit with some of the four-legged residents there. Not only do the kids have a wonderful evening, but the interaction¬†with the animals helps them to feel more comfortable with voices and people in general.

The program is called the Shelter Buddies Reading Program.

Everyone else calls it absolutely, adorably perfect!
