AKRON, Ohio --Northeast Ohio weather has changed fast this weekend. Snow, rain and icy conditions were all out there at one point or another. That ice can really make driving difficult.

Icy conditions were to blame for a car wreck on the side of North Taylor Road in East Cleveland early Sunday morning.

"Ohio, you know, you never know what to expect," said one driver.

Hours later, people were taking advantage of the break from snow and the rain. Many were able to brave the cold temperatures and get some much-needed holiday shopping done.

However, the ice remained in some spots.

"It was really icy. I was on my way to a buddy's house last night, but I was afraid for my life; it was so rainy out," said Nico Reed of Akron.

"My husband works third shift and a 10-minute drive took 45 minutes. There were several slick spots. It was not a pretty sight this morning, so I'll take the cold and the good weather," said Kelly Magyar, who spent some time with family at Summit Mall.

Sunday night, ODOT planed to scale back road crews now that the snow and ice are over for now.

However, bridges and overpasses will continue to be monitored for safety.
